Frozen Blood
“Blood?” I said as I am catching my breath from trying to walk home quickly “why would there be blood here, usually nobody comes here”. I observed the trail of blood, it was frozen from the cold, it lead into the wood. I called a ambulance to come. It must be a poor guy who got lost and possibly died from the mouth of a bear, I thought. I followed the trail into the wood, trying to find the unlucky one.
As I am examining the area, a bear commit a surprise attack out of the bush. Fortunately, I dodged the attack and shot the bear with my shotgun, it frantically tried to escape, but I uses another shot at the leg. The bear isn’t capable of moving anymore, it wails in pain. I had been a professional hunter for a long time, my reflexes were very sharp. I looked around in search of the corpse, since a bear was actually here I assume that the victim was dead. But I noticed that there was a strange mark on the belly of the bear. It was a name, Gabriel, was this bear tamed by someone? I conceived this idea. If so why would it be here? I have this question in mind, but it doesn’t matter now. I finally found the body, it is a man behind a bush as if it were hidden intentionally.
Suddenly someone striked me on my back, I let out a shriek and fled into the wood reluctantly before the anonymous strike again. My back was covered in blood, I realized I was attacked with a knife. “Halt!” I shouted “you are doing something illegal—and bad; it’s not too late to stop now”. I tried to convince the anonymous to let me go, but I guess I’m not really good at convincing others. “Why would I?” The anonymous replied with a vexed tone “you already saw the body”. “You had tamed a bear and use it to kill the man haven’t you? Why would you do that?” I asked him, trying to distract him before I could load my gun. “The details you don’t need to know, but you’ll be dead here for certain” he said with a sinister laugh. I caught this temporary moment as a chance to shot him, a fiercing scream come out of my gun. He is knocked down to the ground, dead. I waited until the ambulance arrived and told them about what happened. Alas, then I can finally go back home.
