Time Flies

At 10:00, you were born With your bright giggle Filled with love In those blue eyes You got from me At 11:00, you turned two Chirping like a parrot Rarely silent In your grand adventures At noon, you enter the doors Of kindergarten Backpack in tow Ready for what’s ahead You start to resemble daddy more At 1:00, the real change begins Your body prepares to blossom Into something new You’re moody at times But I still love you At 2:00, you’ve graduated high school Off to college to spread your wings These eighteen years Seemed only mere minutes Time flies when you’re with the ones you love.
