POEM STARTER
Inspired by Silver_Fox
If your hand could reach inside my heart, what would you do with it?
Write a poem with this as the opening line
The Backside of The Heart
If your hand could reach inside my heart, what would you do with it?
My god the last person i let reach inside my heart they were so unforgiving and unfair,
The space between me and them grew so far from a distance,
Yet I believe you could see something so minuscule like her footsteps creeping and poking around down there,
God to give someone the power to go and look into my heart as if it were the sun,
I work so hard to hide it from view,
Like the mountains trying to hide the inevitable light coming from the moon
Yes I believe in you,
Ultimately, you may not understand nor may you sympathise,
Like a blind man who’s dog refuses to care for him,
But blind hearts see much less than blinded eyes.
If only you could see what I feel,
The satirical and hysterical nature we may share drives me mad,
Is it the heart or mind that sits in control,
Am I rekindling the flame or am I just watching.
Whenever the front falls, that’s when the castle is weakest,
Whenever the mask falls, that’s when the culprit is caught
Whenever the lights turn on, that’s when everything becomes clear
Whenever the heart is open, that’s when I’m most vulnerable.
