The Revelation
Write a poem with a structured rhyme scheme, using this as the title.
The Revelation
As we wander our wandering way ‘cross this Earth,
Seeking truth, and some kind of clarity,
It may behoove us to think of the worth,
Of the simplest words: love and charity.
Amass, oh, amass what riches you might.
For money, think of yourself firstly.
You’ll go to your grave never knowing the light
That travels with kindness and mercy.
Seek power in every relation you have.
Seek dominance, and without ration.
Forever you’ll chafe, not feeling the salve
That nestles alongside compassion.
Spend wisely your days, consoling the doleful,
Show goodwill without hesitation,
You’ll find your heart warm, and feel your soul full,
In the truth of the true revelation.
