Eyes of Sunshine

She smiled. Her cheek bones showing and sunshine in her eyes.

I turned to look at my friend beside me. I went to say something but the words didn’t come out of my mouth. So I turned away. Instead focusing back on the cheerful person across the room.

I watched her laugh as her cheeks reddened.

I heard the bell ring, the sound bringing me back to reality. I rushed out the door to catch up to the girl that happily skipped out of the room.

“Hey! Do you want to go to the park with me this afternoon?” The girl smiled brightly.

“I’d love to!” Her smile rubbed off on me.

“Great! I’ll see you at 6!” She nodded her head before skipping off.

The afternoon came around quicker than I thought it would, and I made my way to the park.

I saw her swinging, smile still on her face. I walked up to her and hugged her. Her smile never faded.

“I think I just met the happiest person in the world!”

I chuckled as her body fell to the floor. Smile still on her face. Oh, and those eyes of sunshine!

“Too bad she’s dead.” I walked away quickly, leaving her corpse there. Bye-bye.
