STORY STARTER
Write a story about a character who is ill, trying to achieve something they can easily do when well.
This character could have any illness, but remember how hard simple tasks sometimes seem even with the smallest of ailments!
Grateful
Sometimes you don’t realize
how easy something is
until you don’t have it
It’s like when your nose is stuffy
and you don’t think about
how easy breathing is
until you can’t do it well
My sister is unassuming
She doesn’t expect anything
but care and love
I never realized how much
I took her for granted
Until she was sick
But she’s back now
and I won’t take a single moment
for granted
Because I know how lucky I am
that she came home

Hi everyone! I’m back! It felt soooo long. I’ll be back to my regular posting soon. Just a bit of an update on what happened. My sister normally has a seizure every a week and half or so, but last Saturday, she had more than ten. We were very concerned and we went to the ER after the fifth one. The next day she has several more (though never more than the first day). Thankfully, her seizures became less and less until she went through two days without any. The doctors did a lot of labs and tests but don’t know why she had so many in a short period. She was well enough to come home today, so she and my mom (who stayed with her for the entirety of her hospital stay) came home. I am incredibly grateful that she got better on her own and was able to come back. I know not everyone is that lucky. Thank you for the well wishes! Now I have the head space and time to write, so I’ll be posting soon.
Always,
Anya
