Childhood Memory

Yes, YES! I remember that day, that day….

I remember the soft gravelled sand. I remember the gleeful laughter of children. I remember the bright flame sphere that shone upon the metal slides.

The hot beams of sunlight which passed through the cracks within the plastic roofs. The hot timid air which swam around the weathered obstacles. The singular flies which explored the unfamiliar lands. The ravenous sands below, filled with foul beasts and unforgiving creatures. The full strength of estival lay upon the unassuming masses, enveloping them with beams of heat.

Most of the details of that day are hazed, all but lost to time. The feeling of joy - of endless childhood ran through my timid body. Yet, however, I hadn’t known that these seemingly endless joyful strained days would be filled with endless sleepless nights filled with everlasting devastation. When I look back, I feel joyful sorrow. My childhood could all be summed up in one memory; That day I still can’t seem to forget, even if I’ve lost most of the details.

I still remember my parents - my Dad and Mum, how I wish I could go back.
