Peter Pan, Please Visit Me
Peter Pan, Peter Pan,
Childhood hero of Neverland,
I found something that you lost—
Nana stole your shadow, for you made her cross.
I pray you’ll come back, come back again.
Man the portcullis, raise the main
And sail back here, where I await.
You need not use door or gate,
For you can fly to my windowsill.
I can’t wait to meet Tinkerbell!
I live out beside a lake and often fantasize
Of meeting the maids of Mermaid Lagoon.
Will you bring me? (Please, come soon.)
And to meet the injun squaws and braves
Would be a delight (traversing the waves).
Do be vigilant and swift,
And beware of the ship that sails adrift,
For a codfish and his pirate crew
Lurk about in search of you
And your Lost Boys. Perhaps I may
Visit your hideout in the forest someday.
What is that rapping at my window pane?
Ah—it’s just a pecking bird peering in from the rain.
