Catch Me

Catch me, I would cry

As I child I’d leap and fly

From the sofa to the arms

Of my mothers strong embrace.

Catch me I would say

As I danced the night away

Danced until the early day

And catch me they would obey.

Catch me I would whisper

To my darling older sister

To prevent another blister

From climbing on the trees.

Catch me I would scream

In my terrors, In my dreams

Wishing someone were with me

To catch me in my sleep.

Catch me now I cry

On the edge where I won’t survive

Waiting for someone to arrive

Catch me, catch me, as I fall.
