Fred had been hearing strange noises for the past few days. Something was happening and he wanted to know what.

It wasn’t long until he found out.

First it started with a lift up to his enclosure. A good sniff of his home and his being. Getting whatever it was used to the dragon’s presence.

Then Fred was placed on the floor whilst the creature was held firmly sniffing him.

The creature looked at Fred with excitement, he wanted to play with him, but Fred always cool and collected just stared blankly studying the creature.

“Good puppy!” One of the humans proclaimed.

Ah, so that’s what this creature was. A puppy!

When it was clear the puppy would cause Fred no harm he was released and after a long minute of trying to play with Fred the puppy quickly tired and fell asleep beside him.

Fred liked the feel of the warm fur and buried himself into the puppy with a satisfied smile.

Fred didn’t fully understand the puppy and the puppy didn’t fully understand the bearded dragon, but that didn’t matter, they enjoyed each other’s company. Supervised of course for each others safety, but the puppy belonged with Fred. And the family relieved they got on so well knew the puppy fit perfectly, he was home.
