POEM STARTER
The Revelation
Write a poem with a structured rhyme scheme, using this as the title.
The Revelation
An eternal adoration for the maternal comforts
Lose yourself in the love of it
Feel it fester
Flee its pester
And the contract stipulates the things you can take
Too many lines on the paper
Suddenly it wounds
Claustrophobia entombs
And one day she speaks to you and you finally hear it
Truth burns the scars from the forceps
Born by force
Forced to make born
And one day it doesn’t fill you like it used to
When suddenly she’s a person too
The degree she nearly earned
The love she clearly yearns
And today it’s just as much as it always was
But you can’t hold it anymore
Her frail hand
Give mother back to land
