POEM STARTER
Submitted by Oddity
Write a poem or short story about someone who lives alone in a bubble.
This could be real or metaphorical.
Connection
With the clicking sound
of high-heeled footsteps
Down the busy sidewalk,
She exudes confidence
With her correct posture
And perfect messy bun,
Her beauty is unmatched,
The kind that intimidates men,
And makes women jealous,
Alone she stays in her bubble,
A self-created paradise
That is also a prison,
Wanting to connect with
Anyone,
Anyone,
Any soul willing to reach out
And align their world with hers,
She screams and cries
from her empty soul,
Yet no one can hear her,
So she returns to her mirror,
Repairing her mascara
And lipstick,
Replacing her teary gaze
With a stoic, ice blue stare,
So no one can tell
If she feels emotions
At all.
