The First Leap
The bravest step is the first,
That treacherous leap that starts the fall,
So the spandexed dominos with salted skin may follow.
Palms pool like churning waters,
And throats bob like buoyant buoys,
All in anticipation of the great heights it takes to thrill adventurous hearts.
Be still, or don’t,
Take flight from treetops and soar like a bird,
Or wait on the brink in quiet contemplation,
But you will never know the kiss of water on your skin,
Unless you take the first leap.
