Kalm

Kalm often found it hard to keep up with the world around her, let alone her own. She could currently keep up with the book she had her face buried in, sat on a bench in the park, so that's a plus.

Flipping from page to page in her newfound book, she took a few glances every now and then at the couple a stone throw away from her. She could see they were celebrating something, anniversary maybe. An unintended sigh escaped her.

"What am I doing?" she wondered. Her mood had all a sudden shifted. She immediately shut the book and was suddenly determined to get home. "Boring, eh? me? boring?" she muttered to herself annoyed as she stuffed her book back in her bag and threw it on.

As she stood up, a nagging feeling suddenly creeped up on her. She was being watched, she was sure she could feel the piercing gaze. To her surprise, the pair of eyes were accompanied by a body of fur and a bark and were suddenly getting closer coming to a halt at her feet. The white and black coat of fur was all too familiar.

"Luna! oh my god, there you are. I was worried you'd run off into the streets." a male figure had quickly inched towards the dog bending to pet her, a stressed look on their face. He stood up to face her and once she caught a glimpse of him, her whole body instantly recoiled away.

Once they both recognized each other, a hurt expression was painted across his face at her reaction but was quickly replaced with a smug look.

"Wow Maeve, how have you managed to look the same 2 years later? I mean, haven't you found someone who cares enough to help you change all this." he waves his hand around her.

"Wow jerk, guess change wasn't in play for either of us. I see Luna's still stuck with you. I wonder why you'd think she would run into traffic." Kalm says feigning confusion followed by a scoff from Raphael.

"So, I figure you're alone here, right? In a park full of couples and friends?"

"What's it matter to you?"

"Oh, it doesn't, just thought you at least had a friend with you."

"Mm, yeah sure" she says as she walks away not having the energy to put up with him.

"Hey, you're leaving already? Guess you'll always just be about that boring life huh?"

Kalm stopped in her tracks and there that word was again, 'Boring'. Raphael had always referred to her as boring just because she wasn't as social or outgoing as him. He had once claimed she held an extinguisher to the flame they shared while they were dating two years ago.

She whips out a gun and shoots him. Headshot. She walked back home. THE END.
