POEM STARTER
Submitted by Maranda Quinn
They say forgiveness is a virtue, but I’d rather keep my anger.
Use this line as inspiration for a poem.
The Circle Of Life Hates Itself
Lions used to be herbivores
But became kings
** Now they eat **
In wake of destruction
In remembrance of death
**Now they slaughter**
Lions threw off what was
And became what’s next
** No remorse**
They could think
“It’s okay to be eaten”
**For the father**
“It’s okay to be food”
Because they can be themselves
**Time, was left **
And I’ll just do what I do
But that version became extinct
** Now is next**
And all that was left
Was the evolution of pain
And the scars that were kept
**_Anger is the second line
That doesn’t forget

Gives on, the slaughter
Keep this pendenant of scars
Ivory and rare
To remember why scars kept
Become scars given, without care
