Meant To Be With You
When you walked down the aisle
I stared through my plastic
Your dad said something
Obviously being sarcastic
But you stared back
Despite his mean joke
You grabbed me off the shelf
Softly to me, you spoke
I may just be a plastic horse
But I stuck with you since you were ten
Now you are twelve years old
Now you play with me….when??
Going on thirteen years
I am stuffed away
I have scratches and marks
Do you want me to stay?
You picked me up
You looked at me
You looked hard
Then dug your face into your knee
Your mascara was stained on your shirt
Your ripped jeans were wet from your tears
You realized what you done
After all these years
You threw me
Tossed me
Stepped on
And hit me
I’m not just a toy you know
I love you
Even if I’m just a plastic model horse
You love me too
