How The Sausage Is Made
Dear Diary,
The royals never stood a chance once I started cooking. It’s funny how easy stuff like potions and preserving bodies translates into cooking. A little sprinkle of salt, a dash of newt’s blood, the queen can’t tell the difference!
So, when the winter came and ingredients started to grow sparse, I improvised more and more. Nothing too serious, but the prince did start to look a little green after supper yesterday. I mean, he was the one who demanded more meat even though all the animals had already been slaughtered to feed the nobles. Who cares if a courier goes missing the same day I make my masterpiece magnifique of a stew, complete with delicately dressed mystery meat. No one could tell! As for me… it just made supper all the more delicious.
