POEM STARTER

Write a blank verse poem about love – whether that’s love for nature, friend, partner, child, pet etc.

Blank verse poetry doesn't rhyme, but normally uses strict structure to build a melody through rhythm.

Is It Real Love?

My greatest fear is this, my dearest friend:

That if I find my “destined angel” there,

With eyes that gleam so bright and beautifully,

A snarling wolf beneath will eat the sheep.

Such an eloquent way of putting this thought! Blank verse looks tricky but I’m assuming you aced this!

I appreciate that this is actually in blank verse, that is, unrhymed iambic pentameter.

But that’s not the only reason I liked it. I admire people’s ability to be concise by choosing just the right words for full potency.

Great work!

Thank you so much! This is my first blank verse poem so I really appreciate it 😄

I like this a lot, makes you think that if you get what you wanted are you ignoring those who can’t help themselves?
