Daddy roars

My body shakes

I know I have to escape

Hiding under the bed

Hands over my head

My eyes glaze over

The world starts to fade

I drift into a dream

Where the skies are blue

And the trees are tall

I hear children laughing in the distance

I feel safe

I wish I can stay
