Write a Tanka on the theme of Friendship.
A Tanka is a short form of poetry with 5 lines; 5 syllables in the first line, then 7, then 5, then 7, and 7 in the last (5,7,5,7,7).
Tankas about Friends
Always have your back
In the good times and the bad.
Sounds corny as heck,
But friends rally when I’m sad.
Friends. They lift me. Make me glad.
Friends ever present
Never leave nor forsake you.
Must be heaven sent
Brothers dear, sisters near you
Ever, always they lift you.
Know you outside in
Whether or not they are kin.
Above all the din
They hear your thoughts from within
Friends always with you. All in.
