Truths Wrath
I lay in a cave with shadows.
I watch as shadow figures toil,
Their gazes always down.
We were taught to fight the light,
To never see color.
One day I grow restless and I look up.
My eyes burn but I can’t turn away
As tears fall down my face.
I feel my soul and heart tearing a painful thing that lasts
But I hear a calling and through the light I go
Every foot step is heavy and pained
Every second earns a scream
Every part is soaked with sweat and tears,
A sign of hard work
I’ve never felt uncomfortable,
Just very unfulfilled.
Now I feel things changing
As I start to understand
Through the light my eyes adjust
And as soon as my tears dry
I see a world of infinite color
And a sky as vast as a mind should be
The seas deep depths are filled with truth
The trees thankful to be heard at last
Whisper Their unheard tales
Tales of men who seek destruction
As I enjoy the vast colors I see things for what they are
The shadowy beats I saw as shadows
Were men lost without the light.
I don’t know how I came to fight for a place so bright.
A place of undying beauty
A place forever more
A place with no lasting sin
And a place where truth is restored
This is my awakening,
A place vibrant colors
Built upon mistakes
Made upon leaps of faith
