Saturday
Just another typical Saturday. I woke up, put on my socks and shoes, got my dog ready for a walk, and walked right out the door. Wasting time was not something I ever did. We got our 20 minute walk in and then I proceeded with my morning habits. I had some of the windows open as I cooked my breakfast and read my devotionals. While I sat down to eat my breakfast, I began to check my schedule and write out any tasks I needed to complete in order to be one step closer to my goal. Once I had my to do list it was time to start the day, so I put my dog in his crate and got dressed for the hike I was about to go on. Next I put on my shoes, opened the door, and said see you later to my dog. As I turn around a bear is standing right in front me. We are face to face. I yell and jump back, attempting to slam the door, however the bear decided it wouldn't accept defeat and put its giant body one step closer to my house. So I do the only thing I can think of and punch it in its face and as it stumbles back I slam the door and run to grab my bear spray. However I didn't even need it because I had subconsciously grabbed my truck keys and locked it. Which caused the honking to scare the bear away. I closed all the windows and took a breather before I shook it off and moved on with my day. The lesson that day was to not give the neighborhood bear any excuses to come that close to my house again!
