Marcaniel Reveal Scene

Nathaniel hadn’t slept in hours, all because Ladybug permanently gave him his Miraculous. He was a hero now, and he desperatedly wanted his boyfriend Marc to know about it, but his kwami, Ziggy, had told him a thousand times that it wasn’t a good idea, and that’s what she was rambling to him about at the moment.

—Nathaniel, you cannot tell Marc about the Miraculous. No chance. Get that idea off of your head! —the little goat-fairy creature that granted him his powers crashed her horns against the boy’s forehead, making him mutter an “ouch…” out of his mouth.

—But, Ziggy… he’s my boyfriend, I don’t want to hide anything from him. And, I also have a suspicion —Nathaniel shifted his head to directly look at Ziggy as she floated nearby his sight— I think he might be Rooster Bold.

When those words came out of his holder’s mouth, her eyes expanded as if he had said the biggest barbarity of all.

—No, no, no —Ziggy was floating around the room like crazy— This can’t be happening!

When he saw his kwami’s reaction, he instantly knew he was right. Why would she get so agitated over that is it wasn’t true?

—Then, am I right, Ziggy? —he asked, with a smirk on his face—

—I-I… I can’t tell you, Nathaniel! —Ziggy had a serious look on her face— You aren’t supposed to know!

—I didn’t know, but now I do thanks to your reaction! —Nathaniel giggled— If you were able to be a little more discreet…

His Kwami then hit him again with her horns, but he didn’t mind.

—I’m going to tell him tomorrow. If he is Rooster Bold, we could make a great team! Think about it, Zig!

After he said that, Ziggy gave up and slept next to his owner’s head in the pillow. She knew there was no turning back now.

The next day, Nathaniel got up from his bed in a jump that startled the mini-goat. Then, he started getting ready to go to school, and he made sure to brush his hair with extra care today. Firstly, he wanted to look good for Marc and he had to get mentally ready to say that he was indeed a superhero, and that this would totally change their relationship dynamic forever. He didn’t know if it was going to be a positive or a negative change, but he decided to not overthink it and just do it, so he didn’t spend too much time on evaluating the consequences as he took his bag, told Ziggy to hide on it, and then opened the door of his house to get out in a rush.

When he walked across the big doors of his school, he inmediately started looking for the black-haired boy he loved so much, but he didn’t find him in time, as the irritating sound of the school’s bell started giving him tinnitus, like everyday.

During lunch, he did meet up with Marc after not seeing him during the whole day. He saw him observing the cafeteria to find the redhead, with his food ready on his tray and that beautiful glossy smile of his that did things to his heart.

—Hey, Marc —Nathaniel waved at him and raised his tone of voice, so his boyfriend could eventually find him and approach his table— how was school today?

—Ah, normal —he responded as he started devouring the food— Physics class made me want to throw myself out of a window.

I giggled at Marc’s comment.

—Yes, totally —i paused for a moment as I took my spoon and started eating the soup— you were hungry, weren’t you?

—A lot, school drains out all of my energy —Marc’s green eyes looked at his in delight, as he savoured the same soup as the redhead—

—Well, can we hang out after school today? You don’t have soccer, right? —Nath asked, while he fidgeted with my fingers under the table— I want to tell you something important.

—You already confessed, you know? —he laughed— In the park, next to the fountain where you broke my book the first time we met and all.

—Stop reminding me! I’m still not used to it —Nathaniel blushed at the flashbacks of him giving his final masterpiece to Marc, and telling him that he loved him— Anyways, it has nothing to do with our relationship, so don’t worry.

—Okay, I’ll see you at the park in front of the school, then —Marc said, as he got up from the table to leave— I have a French lesson in a few minutes, I had to rush eating time. Sorry Nate, I’ll talk to you later, alright?

His smile made Nathaniel unable to be mad at Marc.

—Alright, alright, go! You’re going to be late! —Nathaniel looked at the time on his phone, and then saw his dear boyfriend rush out of the cafeteria.

When the last bell rang, Nathaniel quickly packed all of his stuff back to his bag and got out at the speed of light, as all of his classmates looked at him with a consterned face. He didn’t usually do that; instead, he often took his time to organize his backpack as he packed, but he didn’t even bother that day.

Nathaniel was practically running down the green, oxidized stairs of the school, and far outside of the big doors of his school he saw a certain red hoodie that couldn’t belong to anybody else than Marc, so he went towards him and placed his hand on Marc’s shoulder, to make him aware of his presence.

—Hello there, pretty boy —Marc smirked, as Nathaniel got red. Even though he was flirting all of the time since they got together and even before that, Nathaniel still wasn’t used to it—

—H-hey, Marc —Nathaniel responded with difficulty, but then he got over it— let’s go now.

Then, both of the interlaced their fingers to walk towards the park. When they crossed the street, they admired the greenery and flowers of the park. Even though it was in the middle of the huge city of Paris, it looked like a little forest, and it was a really intimate and quiet place. Nathaniel thought it was perfect, as the bench they sat on was hidden from every angle and nobody could see him if he had to transform to his hero form.

—Well, Marc, what I had to tell you —Nathaniel shifted his eyes from Marc’s— is kind of a very big secret. You can’t tell anybody, not even your parents. Understood?

—Understood —Marc seemed very interested to know what his boyfriend wanted to tell him— I’ll make sure nobody knows, I promise.

—Great —then, Nathaniel pointed at the hairpins that layed at either side of his head, that had a rolled horn-like shape in silver— do you remember when I started wearing these? You asked me about them and I told you I just wanted a change in style…

—Okay? —he elongated the word in a questioning tone—

—Well, they give me superpowers —Nath muttered in a low tone—

Marc opened his eyes wide and opened his mouth to speak, and his boyfriend covered his mouth with his finger, so he didn’t speak yet.

—Let me ellaborate first, I know you might not believe me —Nathaniel quickly said, as he commanded Ziggy to get out of his bag— and this is Ziggy, my kwami. She is the superpower. Kwamis like her can give powers through jewels, like my hairpins. In my case, she represents the concept of passion and grants me the power of Genesis, which allows me to create non-magical objects.

Marc was in utter shock as his boyfriend spilled out. But then, he finally was able to speak.

—Nate, I already know about the Miraculous —he softly laughed, while Nathaniel dropped his jaw to the floor— I already suspected that you were Caprikid since the day that I saw you. And I think you also suspected that I was Rooster Bold, because that first day you were surprised to see me.

Then, Marc told Orikko to get out of his hood, and Ziggy and her hugged and started playing around their holders.

—My power is in this ring here —he signed at the jewel on his gloved thumb— and Orikko represents pretension. He grants me the power of sublimation, that basically allows me to choose an ability that doesn’t correspond to other kwamis.

—Oh, so, that’s why you scored all of the goals when we were against Penalteam? —he asked in surprise— That’s a really broken power and it fits you like a glove.

—Thank you, Nath. The fact that passion is your concept embodies you perfectly —Marc held Nath’s hands in his— but this doesn’t change anything in my view about you. Okay? I love you still.

—I do, too —Nath looked at Marc’s face with adoration. He knew this was going to go well, and he’s so happy that he can share this aspect of his life with his boyfriend too.
