It was the night before her 15th birthday, she was supposed to be facing her biggest fear tomorrow. Mexico had quinceañeras/quiceanos but here they had to go through their biggest fears for a whole day to prove that they were ready for the big world. Most people would have to spend the day with clowns,or stay on the highest building they could find, or sit in the dark with random noises coming out of nowhere. But id have something different , I knew I would.

“Nadia,Nadia! WAKE UP!!”

Did I really have to? I sat up and stared at my sister.

“What do you want Lexi?”

She rolled her eyes,”Today,Nads, is your big 1,5 and your ‘Fight your fears’ event starts in 3 hours. In that time, you have to be COMPLETELY ready.”

“Lexi, its NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL.”

She stopped folding my clothes and looked at me with the worst death stare ever.

“Dont. You. Ever. Say that. Ever. This event is the most important moment you will EVER have in your entire life, its a time where you-“

“OKAY OKAY I GET IT.” I had had enough of her, so i had to get out of bed, no matter how tired i was, she was right I had to face my fears. Literally.

It was time,I was standing in-front of my greatest fear. They had taken a test earlier to see what it was and now for some reason I was standing in-front of a cave.

“I don’t get it.” I said as I turned to the assistant tester.

“Don’t worry about it sweetie” she replied “you’ll figure it out soon.”

After five minutes alone in the cave, I started to panic,I started to hear voices.laughing. Then i knew it,isolation. This was going to be a LONG day.
