Roller Coaster 🎢

I walked up—more like ran up, to hug my Bestfriend. Her parents wouldn’t allow me to see her in the hospital, after her fatal crash…

She hugged me hesitantly.

“Who are you?” She said, and my breathing staggered.

“I’m your Bestfriend?” She shook her head and I added, “You remeber me? I’m Kennedy.”

“Nice to meet you Kennedy,” She smiled hesitantly.

My heart broke right then, right there, that was the hardest three words I’ve ever had to hear. She thought I was a random stranger.

Tears started to stream down my face, “Why are you crying?” She asked.

I couldn’t barley get it out from the chokehold I was in, I pulled up a photo of us—_multiple_.

“I’m sorry I didn’t remember you, am I supposed to?” She said kindly, she was the politest person on earth.

“No it’s okay, well…” I looked at her, her bleached blonde hair growing out, she looked different?

I started to cry, “Oh my gosh!” I smiled.

“What?” She asked.

The tears must’ve blurred my vision.

“You’re not her!”

“You’re not who?” She asked.

“My Bestfriend!” I started to sob as I saw her running towards me,

“Sorry,” I said, mid run.

I embraced in her arms.

“Oh my gosh… I thought you forgot me.”

“No,” She smiled on my hair, “Never.”

I hugged her tighter, my Bestfriend, she remembered me.

I started to cry, a _good_ cry this time.

“Well, I found your twin!” I pointed towards the other girl.

We both approached her, “Sorry about that.”

“I’m glad she remembered you after all,” She smiled.

“Me too,” I linked our arms together.

“What are you doing out here?” Emily—my Bestfriend said.

“Oh… well, I don’t know where I’m at.”

“Let’s help you,” arms linked, we escorted her to the front desk, turns out her memory erases every 24 hours.

“I’m sorry,” I smiled.

“It’s okay.” She smiled, but then it faded.

“Would you like us to stay with you?” Me and Emily exchanged a smile.

“That would be amazing,” Her face lit up.

Even though I almost had a heart attack… we had made a new friend.

We drove back again the next day to check on her, she couldn’t remember us, but that was okay, she had us no matter what, and we all had each other.

The friendships you make, no matter the circumstance or situation, if both parties make effort, there is nothing between the earth that can separate you.

She eventually passed away… but before she did, we realized Emily had a twin, and that was _her_ twin.
