The grass was dewy, gentle under the press of Skylar’s shoes; A young girl who had just moved to town. Biscuits, her dog sniffed the ground adamantly. She thought his behavior was strange, ignoring it despite her instincts. She looks down at him, looking through him with a curious gaze.

He looks up and acknowledges her, whimpering while nosing at her hand. Moisture making its way directly from his nose to her palm. She takes the ball and hurled the treasured item as far as she could. Immediately, Biscuit would dart toward the ball trying to catch it before it hit the ground. The dog came back, proud of himself and dropped the ball before Skylar.

She threw the ball again, taking a seat in the grass. Biscuit brought the ball back. Yet again, the balls was thrown. Her dog came back limping, more noticeable now than before. As he dropped the ball from his mouth she saw it was deprived of its color. Now a faded orange, than the bright red it was not twenty minutes ago.

Whatever, she figured brushing off the oddities. Biscuit begged and begged, so once again she threw the ball for him. The sound of a baby startled her, she whipped around to see where it was coming from. When she turned back around biscuit, and his ball were gone.
