POEM STARTER
Write a poem with the title 'Life Lessons from Death'.
Consider what Death might want to impart on those who can experience living, and the voice that Death might speak from.
Life lessons from Death
Death tells secrets that no one can hear,
We live in our little bubbles controlled by our own fears,
Don’t be afraid anymore and embrace your tears,
Their not signs of weakness but streams that can heal,
Cry not for mourning but for the moments we shared,
For the times we felt lost alone and scared,
Remember the the good time’s that showed us how to care,
Death happens every moment of everyday,
Death is part of life showing us the way,
To live life fully to remember how to play,
To wear our hearts on our sleeves for all on display,
For everything will soon come to an end,
Don’t waste your life away before it ever begins,
Learn to hear the melodies in the secrets of death’s hymns,
Let them lift you up and from your sinking learn to swim,
Through the love and pain the joy and the sorrow,
In accepting both we find what life truly has to offer,
Through the beating of hearts that are both full and hollow,
For the kindness we show today can brighten anybody’s tomorrow,
Though death may seem like the dark within the dark,
The dark is the space that cradles every light and every spark,
That births it all every person and every star,
From the beginning to the end every moment a place to start,
To remember everything matters regardless of who or what you are,
There’s a flame in everything waiting to ignite,
In people places and things a chance to end our plight,
On the wings of a Phoenix ready to take the flight,
Like prayers in the night shooting to the sky,
Life is unpredictable and nothing’s as it seams,
Are birth and death the opposite of two extremes?
Or one and the same unheard behind all the screams?
We fight, push, scratch and pull with all our might tearing at the seams,
Yet we continue on with forgotten dreams as we march on like the hum machines,
To the beat of a drum that’s come undone,
One by one we continue to succumb,
Becoming numb like scum under an unseen thumb,
Over and over like a never beginning rerun,
Till we start to feel what remains unseen,
Take off these masks that we wear like it’s Halloween,
Come back home as close as we can to reality,
That we are life, death and everything in between,
The moment it’s born it begins to die, that’s not a tragedy,
It’s a growing into death our ultimate destiny,
Whether we become hot or cold, young or old,
Scared or bold, empty or whole,
We’re just millions of stories waiting to be told,
Just listen closely to the whispers of death,
That leave secrets in the pauses between our breaths,
That we never notice as we live our lives in regret,
As life slowly passes by in moments unlived,
Yet we don’t need to float by in the streams unaware and adrift,
Death shows us that nothing should go by short lived and missed,
The fact that we are here is a miracle in itself for we’re alive and we exist!!!
Death shows us that life is fleeting and precious,
We think we have many more years but I could die before I finish this,
Or you could die before I hit send and you read it,
All the thoughts about life and death are only myths,
All in all it only comes down to the moment we’re in,
Unlearn the bullshit before we’re occupying our coffin,
The pulse of life that runs through our veins,
Is death setting us free unlocking our chains,
Walking us through the pleasures and the pain,
That we get attached to in the strains ingrained in our brains,
While we’re here life is but a moment of choices,
Embrace the opposites and discover that together is the voiceless,
Of all both the wretched and the joyous,
The happy and the anxious,
Whether we live in the street or high above in a palace,
Whether we are the fire that breathes or the ashes of the masses,
Be kind to all not a spreader of hate,
Spend every moment spreading love, why not what’s the wait?
We are all apart of it all everyone matters and remember before we fade,
That we are all losers yet we are are all greater than great,
Listen to the Love Lessons From Death before it’s too late,
Forget about following blind faith,
Just spread love and kindness the seeds of our fate,
Life lessons from death never stop coming,
In the hymns that deaths songs keep on humming,
Stand firm and talk stop with the running,
Rushing through life forgetting that every nothing is something, and every something is nothing,
The lessons in between are just the start of that which is budding,
Chuckling and touching and crushing all these moments we keep judging,
Live Lessons From Death That Teach Us The Acceptance That We Are Alone And Apart Of The Rest,
Eternally nothing yet eternally blessed!
I’m this time between life and death,
I love you all and wish you the best!!!
