Goodbye Forever

Ophelia stood there facing her father, head to toe in Fauthmhorian leathers the red crest seemed to glow on her chest, the beacon of betrayal as she knew her father would see it. His war tent seemed so much angier then she remembered, 6 months ago it was just another tent, boring and uneventful to her as she fluttered about the war camp, only meaning to visit her father for a few weeks but now here she now stood with an ultimatum.

“Join us or prepare to die” The king repeated back to them “join us or prepare to die?! Ophelia you came here with just as much hate for Fauthmhor as I and yet here you stand smothered in their crest, threatening me? Threatening your people? How dare you” anger blazed in his eyes but Ophelia, knowing her father as well as she did saw the pain and sadness behind the anger. She stepped forward closer to her father but the guards standing beside the king stepped between them “it’s okay” the king waved them away “I want to see her face when she explains how she can betray her people so easily”

“ I am not betraying you. The evil King Acheron must fall, we intend to end his reign of terror and bring peace to the territory and the only way we can do that is with your help. You’ve been preparing for a war with Fauthmhor for nearly a year and you’ve won several battles already. We plan to end King Acheron and put his son,” Ophelia took Sith’s elbow and pulled him so he stood beside her “and put his son Sith on the throne.” My father watched us, his eyes were scrunched, full of doubt and disbelief.

“I wrote to you sir,” Sith began “because you and I have the same dream of peace, my people are brutal violet warriors but that has been the way of their kings for centuries. I have admired your kingdom my whole life for the joy and peace it promotes and I wish to bring change to my kingdom for the sake of my people.” All they could do was wait for the Kings reply. But all the king could do was look away and shook his head as he calmly replied “Do you not remember all I have taught you of their kind Ophelia? They are lying, angry, violent people. They snatched you from that river that day knowing they could trick you into joining them.” He looked at Seth then as he continued “I believe you do want to kill your father, simply so you can begin your own reign of terror, full of hate and ambition. I do not trust you. I do not trust your people. And I will hunt each and every one of you down to ensure peace in my territory and as long as a single Fauthmhorian is alive peace will never come”

Ophelia held back tears with everything she had, she had to appear strong now as she calmly and quietly said “if you are hell bent on continuing this genocide I have no choice but to end your reign all together.” And they turned around and left.

As they reached the river, she looked behind her at the war camp and thought of home and whispered to herself “goodbye forever” for the father she knew, the one full of mercy and love had died and nothing but a hateful man obsessed with revenge remained. She sat down on grassy bank full of sadness and determination, “well what’s plan B?” She asked and all Sith could do was sigh “you’re not gonna like it.”
