Iris Forger is a 15 year old girl whose greatest dream is to travel the world. That is, until the Epidemic, when she lost her younger brother to the virus. After that tragedy, her parents became distant, her older sister became sullen and moody, and she became depressed and numb. After the funeral, her parents let her and her sister stay home from school for the rest of the semester. But she’s starting her Sophomore year now. She stopped talking to her friends, and hadn’t interacted with anyone but family all summer. But, when the teacher introduces a new student, a girl named Aisha, Iris feels her world expanding. But this girl has different plans.
