Beyond My Backyard

Beyond my backyard

There is a small forest

With a nice flowing stream

The leaves in the wind chorused

A beautiful song

Played in the rain

Pattering on the rocks

The life would never drain

The trees, so tall

Provided shade when it was hot

To escape from the humid

This happened a lot

Frogs hang out by a deep pond

And jump in when you walk by

You’ll never be able to catch them

So you might as well not try

Natural paths pave the way

So you won’t ever get lost

There are trees that can be landmarks

And the paths have never crossed

The beautiful forest in my backyard

So lucky I am to behold

Always be careful when jumping in

Is something that I have been told
