Nightfall at Cair Paravel
I gaze up at the Narnian sky
And wonder at the One
Who made the stars that shine above
And loves us, every one.
The sounds of night tickle my ears
I hear the arguing trees—
The oaks and the birches—
As they sway along in the breeze.
I listen to the tricking brook
And the whisps of talking beasts—
Horses, cats, and mice who lull
Their children fast asleep.
To the West, I hear a roar!
And standing up, I see
The great and loving Aslan
Who takes a stroll with me.
