Deep Roots
Write a poem about the importance of roots - it could be physical (like a tree) or metaphorical (like a character's upbringing), or a comparison of both!
mother
these deep roots
reach down to her,
and reach up for me.
Part of the same tree
I haven’t become her,
yet.
even if you are not a woman,
you will always be a girl.
Small and fragile, like a dove.
You will always have
those sad eyes
your mother gave you
