I took what I had to,

Running my mouth into threat.

I begged for life - I begged for you,

But my needs were never met.

I sacrificed my daily freedom,

Tortured by society to sow and seed.

Where was my choice to keep them?

Counting all my debts that bleed.

Blood is warm upon my skin,

Feeling faint in this purity.

Doing what I can to protect next of kin,

What the world offers isn’t security.

Trapped in this cell of hallucination,

Told my children are falling.

I must break free from Earth’s creation,

Take back my worth - no stalling.

At last I found their weeping eyes,

Frozen to the bone was their price.

Trying to heal with motherhood cries,

Nothing comes close to my sacrifice.
