Don’t Do As I Say
My grandmother always told me,
“Don’t spread your legs too wide, or you’ll end up with,” and waving her beautifully manicured red tip fingernail up and down at my sweet bundle of joy; she reverently removed my sleeping newborn from my arms.
A warm glowing loveliness spread across her face, as she gently cooed, rocked, my daughter in her tender soft arms.
Kissing her sweet pink cheek, with her ruby lush lips, a mournful tear fell from her watery eye, as she softly whispered; “My dear sweet baby girl.”
Silently she wept the loss of her daughter, from just the night before.
