Make A Wish

Between the shimmers of the skies,

Finding peace like how I view your eyes.

Resting soul that has passed away,

Is this what the afterlife feels like day by day?

Breathing in cold crystals of air,

Finding warmth within the stars’ flare.

In the night it will always remain,

For in space I float along the way.

Weightless where there is no gravity,

Finding constellations that speak to me.

I hear the whispers that coax me close,

“What is it you seek foremost?”

Twinkle twinkle little star,

I used to make wishes from afar.

Now I float in front of you,

Hearing your question of what I am to do.

Viewing galaxies, and seeing lights,

I wish to take part in God’s pure night.

“I want to close my eyes and find peace here,” I say,

And the star granted me my wish that sent me away.

For when I’m gone here on earth,

May God keep me cradled against His girth.

For when I’m gone to be one of the stars,

Know I am here with you, even from afar.
