POEM STARTER
A truth that's told with bad intent
Beats all the lies you can invent.
Use this quote from the poet William Blake in a poem with a defined structure. As this is a rhyming couplet, your stanza format should follow however you use the quote.
Truth is True; Tongues Subdued
A truth that’s told with bad intent
Beats all the lies you can invent.
Hurting others to aid your means
Is like cutting fresh cloth at the seams.
Why the need to cause them pain?
You’re like wet hair clogging the drain.
The truth is true that can’t be argued
But sometimes tongue must be subdued.
Secrets must be locked away
Never to see the light of day.
I hope the truth has made you happy
For now your trust has gone quite snappy
Your friend will never confide in you
For broken trust leaves hearts bruised.
