Bird Bait

Flying, flying flap flap flap flap. The bird is flying through the rainforest admiring the beautifying day. For once it isn’t raining. The wind between the birds wings is mystifying. There is a calming sensation about the day. Calm, open, lovely and quiet. The bird decided to sit on a branch and get some sun. There were other birds flying around but he didn’t care. He sat there and soaked up the sun. This doesn’t happen a lot during the rainy season. Usually it’s rain and wet for what feels like an entire year. The sun is a bright orange pink color. A monkey comes up to sit next to the bird. They sit there and coexist. All is calm. What the bird and monkey didn’t know was something was watching them the entire time. Bird and monkey. It was HUGE it was able to kill both of them with one bite. Bird and monkey still did not know this. The beast slowly crawled towards them. The beast sat right next to monkey. All was still calm. The beast, monkey and bird all sat on this branch. Then another beast came from behind and another came on the other side. Bird and monkey got scared. Bird could easily fly away but could he leave monkey there to be killed? Should he leave monkey behind? The bird decided he could glide for a few feet holding monkey. The beasts were getting closer and closer. Bird quickly and calmly opened his wings and talons up. He grabbed monkey and began to fly. It was more like falling with style though. The bird did not realize how heavy monkey was. They kept “flying” until they ended up landing in a deep hole. They couldn’t see a thing. They tried to get out but to no avail. They should have just been killed by the beasts it would have been a quicker death. Now the bird could fly out but the problem is when he fell he broke one of his wings and monkey broke a leg. Both are now hurt in a dark hole. They both know they are going to die but it will be a long slow death and both of them begin to cry. What the two animals don’t know is the rainforest they lived in was a nature preserve. There were cameras everywhere inspecting and documenting the ecosystem. It just so happened someone was watching the cameras when all of this went down. The only problem was this person was in California and the rainforest is in Africa. He knew he had to go help the monkey and the bird but didn’t know if he could get there quick enough. He ended up finding a flight to Africa. It was going to take awhile and the monkey and bird didn’t have food or water. It was going to be a stretch but the man thinks he can make it to them before they starve to death.
