I prayed this was one of my smaller mistakes, but the tinge of regret flickered in his eyes. I had put that darkness there.

An expression once filled with warm brown eyes, now swallowed by space. I'm used to finding myself lost in them, now I'm trying to catch my breath.

My eyes swell up with tears and I watch as they envelope down my face and ripple into the sink. With every drop the taste of salt seeps in between my lips. I can hear the pitter patter of pain in the clasps of my eardrums and taste it on the tip of my tongue. Unable to put a face to my own name as I stare at a tear stained face.
