Jaws
Do you see us human?
Do you see our coats of fur?
Do you see our deep hunger?
Our teeth are bared.
Our growls rumble in your ears.
Our hearts pound harder.
We prepare for the kill.
You may be respected in your structures and societies.
You may be revered as a father or mother.
You may be honoured as a warrior or some soldier.
But out here in our lands,
you are nothing more
than another meal.
Our need for survival
is greater
than your
own.
And your bones will crunch between our jaws.
