POEM STARTER
Compose a poem that starts with an idiom.
Idioms are common, sometimes metaphorical sayings such as ‘it’s raining cats and dogs’, and ‘love at first sight’. Which idiom will you use to set the theme for your poem?
Call It A Day
After killing two birds with one stone
A taste of you're own medicine all alone
Ive let the cat out of the bag
No pain no gain on this pricetag
I pulled out all the stops
Not a piece of cake or a lollipop
Its possible Ive added fuel to the fire
By barking up the wrong tree prior
But a picture is worth a thousand words
Its the old hit the nail on the head blurb
I have turned the tables somehow
The ball is in your court now
Perhaps a bird in the hand was worth two in the bush
It cost you more than an arm and a leg to keep it all shush
Looking on the bright side is outlining
That every cloud really does have a silver lining
