POEM STARTER
Start a poem with an onomatopoeia and end it with a different one.
An onomatopoeia is a word that mimics the sound of something such as bark, boom, or screech. These sounds can tell a story if used effectively!
Tick, Talk
Tick, talk. The clock strikes 12.
Lying in bed, all by myself,
Tick, talk. The clock strikes two.
Where are you? Is she there with you?
Tick, talk. The clock strikes three.
I hate it when you lie to me.
Tik, Tock. The clock strikes four,
Dear God, please let him walk through the door.
Tick, talk. The clock strikes five.
Are you laughing with her? Does she make you feel alive?
Tick, talk. The clock strikes 10.
I’ll never let you do this to me again.
Tick, talk. Such a taunting sound.
Tick, talk. I’m so sick of that sound.
Tick, talk. Fuck that sound!
I smashed the clock to bits on the ground.
No more TikTok, no more sound.
Drip, drop. The tears fall down.
