House

If I could build a house,

I’d build a house for two,

One side of the bed for me,

One side of the bed for you,

We’d live in the house together,

Through which love would grow,

All we’d need is each other,

Through wind, sleet, rain or snow,

Here we’d become grounded,

Laying down foundations,

Write love poems together,

With thousands of alliterations,

I’d watch the sun set,

I’d wait for it to rise,

Each second counting closer,

To when I stare into your eyes,

The house would smell of flowers,

And food that was just made,

And if you’re burnt while cooking,

I’ll rush right to your aid,

Here we’ll be a family,

Our love free to roam,

And when this has happened,

Our house will be a home,

But nothing is ever perfect,

We are bound to clash,

And we’ll mess up sometimes,

Shout becoming rash,

Soon each word will slowly,

Swallow up my pride,

And when we are together,

I will want to die.

Most cracked and broken things,

Are meant to be fixed,

But I will not want you,

I will not want this,

One of us will leave,

Both of us will hurt,

But both our hearts and prides,

Will be dragged through the dirt.

In the end I will realize,

I’m better off alone,

I’d rather live in a house,

Than live in a broken home.

If I could build a house,

I would build two,

I’d build a house for me,

And I’d build a house for you.
