Beauty’s Throne

The stars were what she loved the most about the sky,

Every night, we would look up,

And count the constellations until the sun rose again.

Every night, again and again,

The constellations became my close friends.

Whenever her eyes looked up at the sky,

Amazement and beauty sat on their throne.

That was our life until one day,

The stars began falling and twisting away.

Those beautiful lights, which were once my friends,

All disappeared before my eyes.

So then both the stars in the sky,

And the light which once sat next to me,

Disappeared for good.

And the throne remained empty,

Along with the sky,

Never to be filled with such beauty again.
