Don’t You Hear The Heartbeat? Part 1

God’s POV-

“Oh my darling, the night is young, but you radiate with such a flawless, unhindered love. I breathed life into your lungs, and your faint yet storytelling heartbeat plays such a beautiful melody. Your curious little smile is so intoxicating. Your big wandering eyes hold such an adventure. My dear, My love, your heart is of impenetrable purity. I have carved into you, a soul of absolute innocence. It's a dystopia out there. Everywhere you turn, you will see people at war. At war with each other, with themselves, with everything. They’re all just clones that see a target and they shoot. They wander aimlessly, searching for a substitute for my love. A love that will carry no chains. But little do they understand, illusions are everywhere. Sin can so easily put on a grin and seduce even the strongest of warriors. But darling, don't let them win. Guard your heart. Never let them scar you. And when they try, just remember, that I have placed in you a fierceness and a righteous fire that will be your two-edged sword. Baby girl, you will soar as high as the phoenix. Don’t whimper my love; I will not let you fall.”

June’s POV-

[Flashback]-

A cloud of shouted curses marched like an army through the air. I winced in agony. A whip cracked through the air and landed despairingly on my back. Tears were draining from my eyes, as they trickled down my flushed cheeks. I dropped to the cold, concrete floor of our apartment and collapsed to my knees. The smell of hardened blood wreaked all throughout the room. Castor’s maniacal laughter rippled through the air. My lungs filled with fluid. I gagged as a pool of fowl, vermillion blood dripped off my scabbed lips. Choking under the pressure of my weakened lungs, another gush of thickened blood flooded out of my throat and spilled out onto the floor. Kicking me in the stomach, and throwing that agonizing, whip onto my numb skin again, I screamed with the last scrap of strength I had in me. The pain was no longer just a flea on my back. Now, it was like the monster in my mind had awoken from his sleep and come out to skin me alive.

[End of Flashback]-

A shiver ran up my spine. My blood ran cold. A blurry fog took a seat at the front of my mind. A look of pure shock and terror froze on my face as I gaped at the telling item in front of my eyes. The item that would soon put a gun to my head. My body stood paralyzed as anxiety pounded at my walls. A frozen tear threatened to fall, but no. My mind turned against me, all my thoughts hit a blank page. All the anxiety that was cutting a slit in my throat suddenly drowned itself, though I knew that soon it would resurface. Emptiness. Like a night sky with lost stars. Like a sunset with absent colors. Like a pair of lungs with no air. A grave would be a luxury compared to this horror story. Pregnant.
