POEM STARTER
Confession.
Write a poem, with a set structure, which centres around the theme of confession.
Life
I felt the pull of your current.
You needed me.
You held on to me like heat to fire,
Restricted me from motion.
I felt the push of your current.
You envied me.
You repelled me like two positive charges,
Then released me to soar.
I inhaled the salt in my oxygen,
A smell emitting from the ocean
Flowing within me,
Coming to life within me.
She was the beach within my body.
Every inch of me encapsulates her,
Every part of me covers her,
Envelopes her in my divinity.
I tasted the salt in my tears,
That overflowed from me,
Your currents, strong,
Your internal affliction, relentless.
To return to oblivion,
Calling on another to carry your pain.
I felt I was worthy,
I felt I was chosen by you.
I licked the salt from my wounds,
As it absorbed into you.
Now,
Your ocean flows from me.
And the last memory of you shaded in red,
Exists in a reality you never knew.
Resting on my bathroom floors,
Seeping through the cracks.
