POEM STARTER

Woodlands

Write a poem set in a forest.

The Light

Down by the river Nothing is bigger One more day Another light Walking down the path I stop to ask Is this what I’m meant to do Don’t look back Keep going forward The past is past Nothing else comes further Away from my problem More twisted the light At the end of the forest To pretty white light Running faster Careful not to trip Going and going Being careful not to trip Almost there It’s getting closer I hear my name called Now it’s getting further Keep running, faster and faster Then I trip, I’m losing blood faster The sirens in the back Only getting louder Drifting in and out I reach for the light Next thing I know I’m in a room of all white
