In this world

At this precarious time

Many are poor, or poverty stricken

Others are just making ends meet

Few are rich or well off even

In this society today we are

Just one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread

We use coupons to save even two dollars

Because every single cent counts

When we struggle to meet our needs

Let alone anything we or our family may want

So lend a hand if possible

Don’t put judgement on others because we are all struggling

If we can come together

Maybe we won’t feel so desperate to put down one another
