The Astronomical Invention of Demolition

The astronomical invention of demolition,

Saved my life.

I was to young to conceptualize,

That people lie,

And people fight.

Not everything turns out alright,

The picture perfect forever you were promised turns blight.

Life’s greatest sacrifice,

Might be your sleep at night,

But “you can’t give up without a fight”.

Sometimes it takes catastrophe for a realization to break free,

A simple moment of clarity,

Where the worriers need be.

That raised hand which ever so slightly resemble the witches claws from OZ,

Or the terrible screaming that reminds you of every horror movie that reoccurring nightmares were caused.

Then the demolition.

You destroy that part of yourself,

For if your safety is a sin,

Gladly venture to hell,

At least there you’ll be able to feel as yourself.

The astronomical invention of demolition,

Saved my life.

Maybe not in the way of your mind,

But down here I don’t have to put up a fight.

More than once the devil is right.
