POEM STARTER
'It’s impossibly ugly this sweater, but I wear it each week, no matter the weather.'
Use this line as inspiration for a poem.
Ugly Sweater
It’s impossibly ugly this sweater,
But I wear it each week no matter the weather.
The cotton is too itchy, the sleeves are too small,
Yet this sweater is my favorite of them all.
I wear it proud, though others may sneer,
For its warmth is a treasure I pull near.
With mismatched colors, and holey seams,
It’s the sweater of my childhood dreams.
The sweater has worn, ripped, and endured,
Yet the memories it holds remain secure.
And when days are tough and the skies aren’t blue,
This silly turtleneck still holds true.
So I keep it close through thick and thin,
A reminder of where my heart has been.
No matter how worn, no matter the weather,
I’ll keep it on, this ugly sweater.
