If Only You Were Perfect

If only the tides could wash away my sins,

If only I could celebrate my wins,

Without feeling the guilt of my previous words.

Words that stab in the dark like a shard of a mirror,

That reflects the real you.

The devil hidden in your visage,

Disguised by your built up image.

If only your apologies repaired the past,

If only forgiveness was meant to last,

Without betraying their trust.

Trust you never earnt but they wrongly thought you deserved,

They were told you deserved the earth, but the earth deserves better than the train wreck you dirty its tracks with.

If only you were the perfect person, sculpted by the gods to be peace and love, not mistrust and destruction.

If only chaos werent your addiction.

If only you did what you were told,

If only you fit the flawless mould.

If only,if only,if only
